Alutherm AT (Polyester Fibre) Overview

Alutherm® is a flexible, heavy duty bulk insulation material consisting of 50mm, 75mm and 100mm Polyester Fibre laminated to a 4mm white bubble layer on one side and a reflective foil on the other side.

Alutherm® has excellent fire retardant properties. Tested in accordance with SANS 428 - fire performance classification of thermal insulated building envelope systems.

Applications

Domestic:

• Superior under roof tile insulation in residential buildings
• Retrofit to existing buildings over ceiling 

Commercial:

• Above ceiling only - not suitable for over purlin.

Fire Properties:

Tested to SANS 428 and awarded a B/B1/2/H (USP) (No Sprinklers).

WARNING: -   ALUTHERM® is not recommended as a water vapour barrier. A leaking Roof could cause condensation and corrosion to occur which may damage the product and will negatively affect its thermal properties.

Transportation and Storage:

To ensure that ALUTHERM® remains in pristine condition, the rolls must be transported in a suitable, fully enclosed truck.  They should also be stored under cover to protect them from direct sunlight and rain. Rolls should be stacked on their sides or on the end of the roll without the overlap. Observe the “This way up” arrow printed on the packaging. Africa Thermal Insulations (Pty) Ltd cannot accept any claim for replacement for material if the above instructions are not adhered to..

WARRANTY: -  ALUTHERM® is not suitable for exposed, exterior applications. The manufacturer Africa Thermal Insulations (Pty) Ltd guarantees the prime quality of the ALUTHERM® product for 15 years from the date of installation (in accordance with the requirements of SANS10400 Building Regulations), on condition that the product has been correctly installed according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions and provided that the roof has not leaked or been tampered with in any way. The guarantee does not cover the discolouring or deterioration of the product due to it being installed in a corrosive or contaminated environment. The extent of the liability shall be restricted to the product only and does not include the cost of removing and refitting the roof.
